Craftsy Classes & Knitwear Design

Disclosure: My personal endorsement of the yarn, supplies and classes I love also earn me a commission. Each time you make a purchase after clicking on my affiliate links you are actively supporting my yarn addiction- (thank you!)

I am all over the place when it comes to my art interests. Although my main craft-love is knitting, I have dabbled in crochet, painting, drawing, and photography. The online classes offered through have been an invaluable resource for me and fuel for my love of learning new skills. To date, I have taken seventeen different Craftsy classes and my class queue continues to grow! I’ve just signed up for the Freeform Crochet class! I’ll let you know how it goes!

Two classes that have helped me develop as a knitwear designer are Sizing Knitwear Patterns  by Faina Goberstein and Hand Knit Garment Design  by Shirley Paden. In these classes I learned valuable design skills like how to grade my patterns using Excel, how to shape and design different necklines and helpful knitting calculations for sleeve caps and button placement.

My Casual Cardigan pattern was designed while working through the Sizing Knitwear Patterns class.
